"Go wimming?!"

After two "big pool" attempts and much frustration...ok, not that much, we went to Wal-Mart and got a plastic "wimming" pool. When I say "frustration" I just mean that Anna must be attached to me at all times or she is running and jumping into the deep end. We went to a friend's house who has a pool, I put her in her new super cool floaty. She liked it for a little bit but then wanted out. She refused to stay on the steps where she could touch. I was either having to throw her around, splashing into the water, or she was headed for the deep. So for days when we don't go to the big pools, we got this one. She loved it and plays for at least an hour at a time. YAY!

Lounge with friends.

This weekend some great friends came into town to visit. They came over and we all sat around for a couple of hours in our backyard before hitting the pizza and another hang out session at another couple's house. Whew, long sentence. Anna has SUCH a hard life.

Will.

This little cutie is Will. He's almost 8 months old and is a chunk! He's another subject for practice with my camera. :) With a little help from his mom and a lot of help from him, i think we got some great ones. I hope you like these Lindsey!

Happy-Happy-Happy!

Anna does this thing where she sways her head from side to side while saying "happy, happy, happy." She only does it when she's having a lot of fun and when she's just, well, happy! The last two times she's gone to bed, yesterday's nap and last night, she has just played in her bed for at least an hour before going to sleep. And both times we could hear her saying "happy, happy, happy." We wondered if it was her just saying that she was happy to be in bed or that she would be happy if we would get her out.

Playtime downtown.

We were waiting on Daddy do some work in his office and I thought I'd practice some more with my camera. We got some cute ones. I just HAD to put the fireflies on the slide show! If you'd like the slide show to move faster, click on the plus sign at the bottom left corner.

How long is Anna's hair?

Lots of people wonder how long Anna's hair really is. Well, here's your answer. It's just so dang curly in the back that it's hard to tell.

Her BFF.

Puppy is Anna's best friend. Puppy is there when she goes to sleep, he's there for her to walk on, to throw off the back of the couch, to roll over, to bark at, to say "no, NO" to, to toss in and out of the Elmo tent, to squeeze, to kiss, to blow her boogers on... He's there when she wakes up and he'll tolerate it all for another day. Thanks puppy.

The NEW Farm!

Grammy and Papa Joe just bought a sweet new pad in the country and we HAD to go see it this weekend. They've just moved in and haven't completely gotten all their stuff in yet, but we didn't mind. There was plenty for Anna to do and that's all we cared about. The house and land came with a acreage, a huge barn with stables, and even a donkey! They say that "Mayonnaise" the donkey is not very friendly and can even bite, but Anna didn't care about that! While she had a great time jumping on the trampoline (also came with the house!), Mayonnaise thought he'd come check us out. He came right up to the trampoline and almost let Anna pet him. She would get a little too excited when he got close and would scare him away. She'd just giggle and keep on jumping. She's got this trampoline thing down! We apologize for the crazy hair, she lost her "hair-pip" in the car on the way there.

I also asked Daddy to take some pictures while Grammy and I went shopping for the new house on Saturday. I was really surprised he remembered! He took some pictures of Anna signing my Mother's Day card. She did a pretty good job for a 19 month old! Ha!

Fun in the Sprinkler?

"Nope" as Anna would say. We had a hot day and I thought it would be fun to let Anna play in the sprinkler. I hadn't gotten her a swimsuit yet this year, but had a hand-me-down suit that she thankfully could fit into. We got everything ready, put the swimsuit on, and turned on the water. I stood there waiting for some reaction from Anna. She just looked back at me and said "hot." She looked at the sprinkler, stuck her hand out at it to catch some drops, then walked over to her slide and said "hot slide." I asked her if she wanted to play in the water. She just looked at me and said, "nope."

New-Old Chairs.

My mom and I (well, mostly my mom) re-did our living room. She came with some new cute pillows to get me inspired and motivated. She also recovered some chairs that I had. She bought them a while back and recovered them then for me too. So this was there third upholstery job including the original. We moved them over by the windows and they have become Anna's new favorite spot. She always loves to get up on something to see out the windows. And these are in the perfect spot.

The Missing Sandal.

So we went out for our daily piddle at around lunchtime today and took Daddy something to eat. I then drove around "scouting" for places to shoot some photographs of some friends while Miss Thang took a nap in her car seat. Folks, if she goes to sleep in the car seat, there's no way I'm getting her out because then she is UP. So I took advantage of it and enjoyed the quiet. After she woke up, we were on our way to Sutherlands to look at the new plant arrivals. The truck usually comes in on Thursdays. Yay! She we piddled around the garden dept. and then headed home with only 2 small sweet potato vines. I get into the garage and got Anna out of the car seat...and only one sandal?! Hmm. I searched the car, searched the garage, under the car, in her cart cover, in my bag, EVERYWHERE! Jenni had just drove up to chat and waste some time before she had to pick her kids up from school. She said, "Is it at Sutherlands?" It HAD to be. I've looked everywhere. Although I swore she had 2 sandals on when I put her in the car. She kept Anna while I rushed back to the store where I walked up and down the garden aisles, asked the not so helpful employees, asked the service desk, who were also not so helpful... and nothing. By then I was sure she'd thrown it out the window since we drove a while with them down. Now, these sandals are not anything special, just your ordinary, but super cute, Target $12.99 sandals. I sure didn't want to have to go to Target and buy them again! So I drove back to the house and had surrendered to the fact that I'd be making a trip to Target tonight. (Hmm, not such a bad excuse for a Target run!) I get back into the garage and made another sweep of the car. I looked in the crack between the back wheel well thingy and the back seat and THERE IT WAS! I really thing there HAD to be an attempt at throwing it out the window if it were back there. She tends to throw things behind her intending on the opposite. So all that worry and a trip back to freakin' Sutherlands and it was riding in the car the whole time. And you thought this was going to be a GOOD exciting story! Ha!

Bubbles!

Anna's favorite thing...Bubbles! She helped Daddy wash his bike the other day and thought her hair needed a little scrub as well.

Baaaa!

Anna and her cousins went to see some baby goats last week. Another bittersweet reunion for the family as our grandmother passed away and everyone came in for the funeral. Since there were some great people at the church, Anna didn't have to sit through the service...(that probably would have been impossible anyway!). She got to play in the nursery with one of her cousins. She had a great time. She mostly ran around behind all the other older kiddos and tried to keep up. She needed to be part of the all the action. The closest one in age to her is four so she had lots of catching up to do. And later that day we all loaded up to go into town to see some baby goats. We got there just in time to feed them their milk. Anna just watched as the others held the bottles. She didn't seem scared by them at all. She just called them "puppies" a couple of times and after we cleared that one up, she just followed them around and said "goat!" with a major stress on the "T". Funny... she got right up in one's face and said "BAAA!".
